One of the first questions we are asked is "What does Avtala mean?". To our non-Swedish friends, avtala to (sign a) contract, to come to a deal or an agreement in Swedish. When we started our consulting practice, one of our lawyers was from Sweden. He used the word when closing one of our early deals and we thought it would be perfect to use as our company name. Although we aren't Swedish ourselves, we never had a problem dealing with our Swedish friends (especially when dealing with our lawyer, Per).
